G!G 01-27-2006 @ UP Sunken Garden

Stamp will play at the Destino4 gig at UP Sunken Garden. They will mostly play as back-up to Chinky Mae, the sponsoring org's band, which will churn out a medley of your favorite OST songs, such as All You Need Is Love, Only You, Iris and Only Hope.

Stamp will also play as warm-up the freshly-penned Kailan Pa, the song that made the Urok-hai people, those concert lurkers, mosh pitters and Slapshock-devotees, applaud.

We will play right after Kjwan and just before the movie, so please be there.

The band's sound and music is evolving, but if you wanna hear some angst-driven 'stupid' love songs, please do catch us.

Destino4

*Sound Check

*Answer to Murphy's Law-ed.

It's a pain but be there during stage set-up. Warm-up those vacuum tubes. Maximize potential. Define your sound. Rock out.

Do the Deed.

Murphy's Law-ed

Corollary: If there is a worst time for something to go wrong, it will happen then.

I just can't believe that this happens when I've already thought that it might happen. meaning i would make a safeguard event to make sure it won't happen. and i did. still, the worst nightmare happens.

Guitar Tuning Problems. the most basic of all.

was it that i wasn't on a live full band big stage for the longest time that this struck at me? man, i did 4 live gigs last december (but small venue gigs). never had that problem.

i was so weary about the sound on how my guitar playing will rock. i'm thwarted. never even had the chance to execute.

assessment: adjustment within the performance still average. not happy with guitar sound for the first song. had to stop guitar playing for the second song. and when i was about to make adjustments for our last song, a string gave up on me.

so i had to abandon the guitar altogether, and gave the audience an "emo" performance. (with single guitar, bass and drums backing me up).

guess what? some audience, who were waiting for the hardcore band slapshock, applauded. the urok-hai sounded off favorably. even shouted for more.

i want to laugh it off. but give yourself some consolatation, should be happy that at least i made a performance that somebody appreciated for once.
